Hey I am Shivi, Co- founder of Chakkiwalle, and today I want to talk about something very close to my heart: our hand pounded Garam Masala. It's more than just a spice blend; it's a culmination of tradition, meticulous sourcing, and a whole lot of love.

A Legacy of Flavor

My passion for spices goes back generations. In my childhood, the aroma of freshly ground spices would fill our home every morning. My grandmother, a phenomenal cook, would spend hours pounding each spice to perfection on her stone mortar and pestle (chakki). It was a ritual that not only filled the kitchen with an intoxicating fragrance but also brought the family together, everyone discussed about the ingredients of garam masala as per his or her own knowledge, but grandma always had an upper edge.

 I knew I wanted to share this experience with the world. But in today's fast-paced life, who has the time to grind their own spices? That's why we created Chakkiwalle hand pounded Garam Masala. It’s a way for everyone to enjoy the taste of authentic, freshly ground spices without the hassle.

The Art of Hand Pounding

Unlike commercially processed masalas, our Garam Masala is hand-pounded using high-quality ingredients like cinnamon, mace, peppercorns, coriander seeds, cumin, cardamom pods, A good number of spices has been sourced from my old friend Princy, owning farm house in Kerala. We believe that fresh spices make the biggest difference, and that's why we don't compromise on quality.

 The hand-pounding process itself is an art form. It ensures that the essential oils and flavors of each spice are released, creating a truly aromatic and flavorful blend. It's a slower, more labor-intensive process, but the results are worth it.
